Interested in homeschooling or learning more about Classical Conversations in Powhatan?
Our community for elementary through high school meets weekly on Wednesdays. Within this community, parents are strengthened and equipped to cultivate discerning, articulate students who delight in learning and grow in wisdom. Families are devoted to pursuing truth, goodness, and beauty together.
Classical Conversations fulfills its mission by curating curriculum that is rooted in the classical model and in tune with the way that children naturally learn. We believe education is best experienced together and that's why community is the bedrock of our homeschool program.
Located west of Midlothian, our Powhatan community offers elementary, middle, and high school classes.

"To know God and to make Him known"
CC structures its curriculum around the Trivium, a three-stage process that aligns with a child’s natural cognitive development:
Grammar (Foundations): In the early years, children have a natural ability to memorize facts. CC focuses on "pegs" of knowledge—songs, chants, and repetition of history, science, Latin, English, math, timeline, and geography.
Dialectic (Essentials/Challenge): As children reach middle school age and start asking "why?", the focus shifts to logic and understanding the relationships between different pieces of information.
Rhetoric (Challenge): In high school, students learn to express themselves clearly and persuasively, applying the facts and logic they have mastered to defend their beliefs and solve complex problems.
While other programs focus on what to think (information delivery),
Classical Conversations focuses on how to learn (the tools of learning)
within a supportive, faith-based community.
